Today's Weigh In

LOST 5 POUNDS THIS WEEK!

Offically lost 37 pounds!

Wow, exercise really works! Why does that surprise me? And why do I always have to relearn that? I love sweating now! It is a sign of good health (Leslie Sansone's favorite phrase is "good health" - I LOVE her walking videos!).

I'll see if Jose will take new pics of me soon!

Thanks for the rootin' guys!

Continuing to struggle

Weight loss has come to a stand still and it's quite the struggle. Tears of guilt and frustration followed after I left my WW meeting this morning. I hadn't been to a meeting a almost 2 months, and, though I lost a few ounces since the last meeting (thank you Lord!) I have bounced around the same 4-6 pounds! I haven't commited to the weight loss! ARGGGGHHHHHH!

I am still not thrilled with pics of me yet! So don't ask for any!

Just frustrated!

IN SLOW MOTION>>>>>>

This is not meant to alarm - but I know that many of you - my dear friends and family, have been watching this Blog in the hopes of getting more pictures of my weight loss update and have been sadly dissappointed!

Thankfully, I have not gained my weight back! But the loss itself is slow and frustrating. In fact, I think I have been loosing and gaining the same 2.8 pounds for the past month and a half! (Halloween didn't help!)

Don't give me the credit of saying I have hit a plateau. No, instead, it is as simple as eating junky food, again, and having to get back into the routine of exercise. I LOVE exercise! But the motivation sometimes isn't there!

Nani went home this past week. She gave the Air Force a try, and was living here in San Antonio since May - so for the majority of those weekends we went to pick her up and take her back to base for weekend visits. And her boyfriend stayed here at the apartment for almost 2 weeks while he was on leave from Fort Polk. I miss Nani so much already, but life will slowly get back into a routine and I'll find more free time to exercise. Nani, if you are reading this - having you here was totally worth the time you took away from my exercise (hehehehehehehe - you were just my excuse!).

Oh, and you'll have to wait for pictures, also, because our digital camera broke! I hate buying a new camera - but LOVE having one!

Thanks for all your prayers, guys!

I'll keep you posted!

Oh, only 13 pounds till I hit Onderland (it means I am out of the 200 pounds mark!).

I won!

Sorry, guys, for not posting earlier, and sorry that I don't have pictures to put up! I still feel weary about pictures of me - even though am only 2 oz away from my 35 pound weight loss! (I don't count it as official till my WW Leader gives me that silly 5 pound gold sticker to put on my tracker!)
Don't know if you guys know that I was part of the Berkley HeartLab Weight loss challenge these past few months. Who ever looses the most amount of pounds gets a prize and is featured in an upcoming issue of their flyer.
Here's the emails she sent me :

"Hello all!!!

The final weights are in!

And the person with the most weight loss is: PATIENT #9 with 14 pounds lost!

Second place is Patient #14 with 10 pounds lost and third place is Patient #18 with 8 pounds lost!

12 people total lost weight!

WAY TO GO TO EVERYONE!!"

Then....... to prove that I was Patient #9 :
"You were the winner of the weight loss challenge!

I will get your prize out to you and get to work on the flyer featuring you this week. I will need you so sign a paper saying you are okay with the flyer being done and will work with you be sure you are happy with the outcome.

Let me know the address you want to prize sent to.

Thanks and WAY TO GO"

How fun is this!

Thanks Berkley HeartLab, Weight Watchers, and, most especially, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Phenomenal woman, That's me.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
~ Maya Angelou

I got this poem from a fellow WW! LOVE IT!

I aspire much......

When I first began my journey, I was having to go to size 22.... there, I've admitted it. Not fun, not something I like admitting, but it is true.
I am continuing to loose weight - as of right now I am down 27.2
I should be at my 30 pound mark with in the next couple of weeks! I'll let you know when!
Back to the reason for the pictures -
I have now gone to size 18/20 - hooray! But even at size 18/20 - there are NO CHEAP clothing! Everything is full price!
I went to Target the other day and found a pair of 16W (can you see the label?). Now, I cannot wear these........yet! These beautiful, brown, low rise, slim thru hip and thigh slacks were on sale and I couldn't resist! They are hanging in my closet so that I can look at them and remind myself of my goal and why I am working so hard!
(cute slacks, huh?) The healthy look on the outside is a reflection of the health on the inside! Whatever, the slacks are just cute!

25 pounds GONE

Wow!!!!!! So this is what 25 pounds looks like!
I'd take more pictures (side view, face shot, etc) but once again, my camera ran out of batteries! Gotta juice that baby up!
Today, I hit my 25 pound weight loss and I've lost 10% of my total body weight (plus a pound)! I got a magnet for my fridge for the 25 pounds, and a key chain for my 10% lost! I am on top of the world!
Who hoooo!!!!!!!!1

soon will finish my 16th week

1st taken in January, this one take today. Can you tell any difference?
here i am, on track, exercising, eating right, staying positive! I wanted to try taking these pictures to show my 20 pound weight loss. When I reach 24 pounds lost, I will have lost 10% of my weight! Hooray! I think I get a magnet or something.

I am feeling so healthy moving so much easier. I can't wait to be at my goal weight 135-140 and really understand what it is like to be healthy and not fear furthur health problems dying young.

Oh, and I have started a program with the Berkeley HeartLab and they are monitoring my cholesterol (which wasn't too bad, though my good cholesterol was low and my bad cholesterol was high, AND, worst, my insulin was elevated). The dietician who is following me is holding a weight loss challenge and whoever looses the most weight in a certain period of time will win a prize AND be highlighted in a flier to help motivate other HeartLab patients! I totally want to win. So far, the average weight loss for those participates ws only 4 pounds - I can totally BEAT that!

Feeling so much better about myself!

This has been a rough few weeks! First, I go through a week of no exercise - caught a bug at work and was out of comission. Then, the next week, back to work, travel to Louisiana, my niece's high school graduation - my whole schedule was thrown for a loop - again, hardly able to exercise! Then, back to work and trying to find my routine again! In the past two weeks, I gained a total of 5 pounds - this was NOT on the agenda! Life happens - occasionally I would make good choices, and at other times, I knew I was off plan and would regret it!
Now, I am back on schedule, back in routine and according to my scale at home, I have almost lost all of those 5 pounds! Small steps! this is all for God's glory!

I am back to writing down EVERYTHING I eat, rather than skip because I didn't think it was many points to begin with! Boy, those little points add up!

I feel so great!

A week in review.....

Here I am, week 12 - I weighed in yesterday.

I am drained..... This has been a rough week! I was very ill this week, and haven't eaten much to even write down on my Points Tracker. It even got to the point where my doctor put me on a rice/broth/crackers and flat 7up (yes, flat) diet to help me out! I have been so week! So I can't really take credit for my weight loss this week.

My total weight loss is 21 pounds! I am very thrilled about this! Today, though, has been the first day in a long time that I have been able to eat real food and not worry about becoming sick! Now, I just need to stay on track and not try to "make up" for all the bad days I've had! Now I need to ease myself back into exercise routine!

Exercise

Let's just say........
I have moderately enjoyed exercise in my life - I am not "anti exercise;" I do not claim to "hate exercise." God gave us bodies that were meant to be in motion!
I have gone through times in my life where I couldn't imagine not exercising and I have gone through times (most recently) where exercise was the last (and therefore, first) thing on my mind! Now that Isabella has become independent in motion and pursing her own activities, I feel like I am not doing her or myself justice by sitting around!

Over the past 2 months, I have gradually increased my exercise routine - today, I just completed 45 minutes of elliptical, treadmill and about 4 minutes of weight lifting (now that this weight is coming off, my skin isn't as resilient as it used to be - well, and I've never been this big before, either!).

(Disclaimer - don't be grossed out by this next statement.........) And now that I am exercising so much more, and have lost weight, my legs don't rub together nearly as annoyingly! And my rear doesn't jiggle as much when I walk! This is just cool! Praise God!

Thursday, May 3, 2007

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!

I have lost 4.4 pounds this week!

My official weight loss is 18.8!!!!!!!!

This is amazing! I worked out so much this week that I actually began to look forward to my workouts and enjoy them tremendously! I even have begun running a little (30 seconds at a time) on the treadmill - and now whenever I have to chase Isa! I just hope I don't break the apartment complex's property! I can't afford to replace it!

I am on the right track.......... Keep posted for more amazing weight loss by Diana Jean!

After 15.8 loss

Here is a picture I took for my mother in January, trying to do something new with my hair. Then here is a picture from this week, with my hair pulled back. I don't know if you can see the difference between the two, but I definetly can. I don't have nearly as much puffyness on my face! I don't know if you can tell, but you can't see a double chin (of course, I am not smiling as big as I was in the first pic and this one has a little bit more of a shadow, but you get the idea!).

Just thought this might be interesting to some of you!

Friday, April 20, 2007

Hooray! 3 pound loss this week!

That brings my total weight loss to date at 15.8! Praise God!
Then I went and ate pizza and non-portioned size desserts! I only have 3 points left for the rest of the day! Oh well, I was with family and had a good time! I've learned my lesson - now go on!

Sunday, April 8, 2007

I began Weight Watchers in late February 07. I lost weight previously, tried to loose weight previously, and now am on the track to a permanent life change - not just another "diet."

When I began Weight watchers, I didn't do all of my measurments nor did I take pictures of the "before." I didn't want to do all the things I did before on other weight loss techniques - thus I took it one day at a time, instead of rushing into "how fast can I loose this weight."

A few of these pictures were from a few months back - when I was allowing pictures to be taken of me. But that was when I realized I had gained so much! Other pictures are of me today, April 8th. At my last weigh in, I was at 234, that is down 14.4 pounds! Hooray!
Oh, and yes, I am having hair issues! What else do you do with it when it's getting longer and you want your curl, but not the frizz!
